Relax with serene views, among the oaks.
A dog-friendly rural retreat near Dartmoor and the beach.
Built within the grounds of Great Burrow are two unique and secluded places to stay in peaceful West Devon countryside, surrounded by footpaths. One a luxurious cabin, the other a cosy, cob cottage with a sauna. Both have private hot tubs. And both, EV charging.
Great Burrow Stables
Great Burrow Stables is our brand new venture!
After years of keeping chickens in the old stables, we have finally converted this really special peaceful spot into a romantic, stunning space. We’ve kept the large covered deck and added a veranda with an outdoor roll top bath. (the chickens have moved but still visit occasionally!) Sleeps 2, possibly 3.
Great Burrow Cottage
Great Burrow Cottage is a detached former Linhay or ‘lean-to’.
Made of ancient cob and stone, beautifully converted, its ideal as a relaxing retreat for couples or a great base for an active family holiday. Laze in the garden hammock or in the wood-fired hot tub with views through the willows to Dartmoor. Enjoy the pizza/games room with sauna. Sleeps up to 5.
Great Burrow Farm, our house, was built in the 16th Century most probably as a Devon long house. Made of cob and stone, with a thatched roof, it began as a single room shared by both people and cows. Although no longer a farm it is surrounded by fields, mostly stocked with sheep, some cows, and our house is still separated from its long barn by a cobbled covered passageway with views under the oaks to Dartmoor’s wild northern Tors.
Our aims are to be as sustainable as possible and respect where we live by striving for a low environmental footprint.
