How do I get to you?
See our directions page here.
What time is check in and out?
Check in is 5PM and check out is 10.30AM. If we are ready before these time we will let you know.
What’s the difference between the Cottage and the Stables?
The cottage sleeps up to 5 with an extra charge of £45 per night for a 5th person and has a garden beyond its deck area with a hot tub and a games room.
The stables sleeps a couple with a single bed on the mezzanine in the same space ( so not private) and up a ladder so not for little children! There is an extra charge of £35 for a third person. It has a large covered deck with an outdoor bath. There is no garden but it has great walks directly from the lane.
What do you supply?
So that you know what to pack, here’s a list of what is provided.
Bed linen, towels and robes.
Tea, coffee, sugar.
Olive oil, mixed herbs, salt and pepper.
Washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloths, t-towels
Handmade natural soap, Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner.
A basket of logs with firelighters, kindling and matches.
Can I buy more logs?
We sell trugs of logs with kindling and firelighters for £10 each payable in cash, BACS or SumUp.
Is there wifi and mobile reception?
The cottage has super fast wifi and the stable has 4G wifi. Both have fairly good phone signal and 4G.
Can I charge my electric car? Do you have EV Chargers?
We do not as yet have these, just regular electric.
Do I need a car to get to you?
There is plenty to do in terms of relaxing and local walks so you could hire a taxi from Okehampton Station and go car-free! We do recommend you book taxis or hire car from Okehampton in advance as it is a small rural town. There are good supermarkets there to stock up ( Waitrose, Lidl, Coop and the Harvest Workers’ Cooperative farm shop all in walking distance of the train station). If you would prefer to venture to the sea and the moors, a car is a must as the buses are limited (they go from Venndown Gate on the A3079.)
Can I bring my pets?
Well behaved dogs are very welcome at £20 per stay per dog and we ask they are kept on leads in the grounds. There are lots of great walks straight from the cottage and many dog friendly pubs and restaurants and beaches nearby. Please bring bedding for them and towels and please keep them off the furniture and beds.
Can I book a single night?
Our minimum stay is 2 nights in Winter and 3 nights at busier times.
How do I secure a booking?
A deposit of 30% is required by BACS when booking with the balance payable two weeks before your holiday (unless within two weeks, in which case the total amount needs to be received when booking). We strongly advise taking out holiday insurance. In the event you have to cancel, for whatever reason, we will do everything possible to re-let the cottage to others but if we are unable to do so, we regret that you are still liable for the full balance.
